EASF Launches Regional Cybersecurity, Cyber Terrorism Workshop in Kampala
Kampala, Uganda – November 17, 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has opened a five-day regional workshop on cybersecurity and cyber terrorism awareness at the Onomo Hotel in Kampala. Themed “Think Smart, Stay Safe: Youth Against Cyber Threats,” the event aims to strengthen regional capacity, promote digital safety, and empower young people to counter emerging online threats.
EASF Recognized by African Union as 2nd Best Performing REC/REM for 2025
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) is proud to announce that it has been ranked as the second-best performing Regional Economic Community/Regional Mechanism (REC/REM) by the African Union for the year 2025. This recognition follows a thorough AU evaluation of performance, delivery of AU-funded activities, and adherence to standards of transparency, efficiency, and accountability.
EASF Inducts Second Cohort of the Panel of Elders in Naivasha, Kenya
From 11–13 November 2025, the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) held an important induction workshop in Naivasha, Kenya, to officially welcome the 2nd Cohort of the EASF Panel of Elders. The workshop was opened by the Director of the EASF Secretariat, who thanked the Guest of Honor, EASF Policy Organs, and key partners, the African Union Commission (Peace Fund) and the Royal Kingdom of Denmark, for their continued support to regional peacebuilding.
EU Delegation Visits EASF Headquarters and Logistics Base
Addis Ababa, 30 October 2025 - On Thursday, a delegation from the European Union to the African Union visited the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Force Headquarters (FHQ) and Logistics Base. The visit was hosted by the EASF Force Commander and the Chief of Staff of the Logistics Base. The delegation received a detailed presentation on EASF’s mission, operations, and ongoing initiatives, before touring the facilities and premises of both the FHQ and Logistics Base.
EASF Bids Farewell to Outgoing Staff and Welcomes New Members
Nairobi, Kenya – Thursday, 30 October 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) held a formal handover and farewell ceremony at its Secretariat in Nairobi to honor outgoing staff members and welcome new officers, in line with the EASF Rotation Matrix 2025–2029. The event was presided over by Brigadier (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema, the Director of EASF.
EASF Presents Anniversary Book to Key AU Officials at High-Level Forum in Abuja
Abuja, Nigeria — November 9, 2025—The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) marked a significant milestone in its advocacy and partnership efforts with the formal presentation of the EASF Anniversary Book to senior officials of the African Union Commission (AUC).
The presentation took place during the Second High-Level Biennial Lessons Learned Forum on Peace Support Operations and the African Standby Forces, held from 8–9 November 2025 in Abuja, Nigeria.

Mombasa, Kenya – 22 Octobre 2025 : La Force d'intervention en Attente de la région Afrique Orientale (EASF) a lancé jeudi à Mombasa un cours régional sur la protection de l'enfance, visant à renforcer les capacités des forces de l'ordre et du personnel de soutien à la paix afin de protéger les droits des enfants dans les situations de conflit et d'après-conflit.
L'EASF Entame l'Analyse Post-Opérationnelle de l'Exercice Maritime « Bahari Salama 1» à Djibouti
Djibouti, le 18 Octobre 2025 – La Force en Attente pour la région Afrique de l’Est (EASF) a officiellement lancé une analyse post-opérationnelle de trois jours à la suite de l’achèvement réussi de l’exercice régional de commandement maritime « Bahari Salama ».
Organisée à l'hôtel Escale à Djibouti-Ville, cette réunion rassemble des chefs militaires, des planificateurs, des observateurs et des experts techniques de toute l'Afrique de l'Est afin de réfléchir aux enseignements tirés de cette opération qui a duré 18 jours.
L'EASF Conclut l'Exercice Historique de Commandement Maritime « Bahari Salama 1 » à Djibouti
16 octobre 2025 - Djibouti - La Force en attente pour l'Afrique de l'Est (EASF) a mené à bien son tout premier exercice de commandement maritime (MCPX), baptisé « Bahari Salama 1 », à la base militaire de Doraleh, à Djibouti. Cet exercice historique marque une étape importante dans les efforts déployés par l'organisation pour renforcer la sécurité maritime régionale et améliorer ses capacités de soutien à la paix dans toute la région de l'Afrique de l'Est.
