AU Special Envoy Pays Courtesy Visit to EASF to Strengthen Cooperation on Women, Peace and Security
Wednesday, 3 September 2025 - Nairobi - H.E. Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, the African Union Commission (AUC) Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security (OSE-WPS), paid a courtesy visit to Brig. Gen. (Rtd.) Paul Kahuria Njema, Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), at the EASF Secretariat on Wednesday, 3 September 2025. The visit aimed to deepen collaboration on implementing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda in the Eastern Africa region, particularly in advancing the goals of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and related AU commitments.

EASF Launches Logistics Operational Planning Course in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 14 July 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) officially launched the Logistics Operational Planning Process Course (LOPPC) on Monday at its Logistics Training Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The two-week course, scheduled from 14 to 26 July, forms part of EASF’s 2025 Activity Plan and aims to strengthen logistics preparedness in peace support operations.

EASF Concludes Specialized Training on SGBV Investigations in Rwanda
Kigali, Rwanda – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) successfully concluded a Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Investigations Course held in the Republic of Rwanda from 16th to 27th June 2025. The course aimed to strengthen the capacity of police officers from EASF Member States in addressing SGBV in Peace Support Operations (PSOs).
