Somalia Hands Over EASF Chairmanship to Uganda

Mogadishu, Somalia – December –18, 2025 The Federal Republic of Somalia on Thursday officially handed over the chairmanship of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) to Uganda during the 35th Ordinary Policy Organs Meeting held in Mogadishu. EASF Opens 35th Ordinary Policy Organs Meeting in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, Somalia – 13 December 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) on Saturday opened its 35th Ordinary Policy Organs Meeting in Mogadishu, marking a major milestone in regional security cooperation under the theme “EASF: Two Decades of Commitment to Promoting Regional Peace and Security.” The meeting will run through 18 December 2025, beginning with sessions of the Experts Working Group (EWG) from 13–15 December.

Ongoing FPU Commanders Course at the Djibouti National Gendarmerie School

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has launched its ongoing Formed Police Unit (FPU) Commanders Course at the Djibouti National Gendarmerie School, running from 24 November to 5 December 2025. The training brings together 22 senior officers from EASF Member States to strengthen leadership, coordination and operational readiness for future peace support missions.
