Ongoing FPU Commanders Course at the Djibouti National Gendarmerie School
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has launched its ongoing Formed Police Unit (FPU) Commanders Course at the Djibouti National Gendarmerie School, running from 24 November to 5 December 2025. The training brings together 22 senior officers from EASF Member States to strengthen leadership, coordination and operational readiness for future peace support missions.
EASF Concludes Regional Workshop on Preventing Child Soldier Recruitment in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, 27 November 2025 - The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Logistics Base in Addis Ababa has concluded a three-day regional workshop focused on strengthening efforts to prevent the recruitment and use of children in armed conflict. The training, organized in partnership with the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security, brought together representatives from EASF Member States and staff for intensive sessions on child protection in security operations.
EASF Director Takes Part in 7th AU–EU Summit in Angola
Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Director Brigadier (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema participated in the 7th African Union (AU)–European Union (EU) Summit held on 24–25 November 2025 in Luanda, Angola. The Director joined leaders and senior officials from both continents in high-level discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation and advancing shared priorities.

EASF Launches Regional Cybersecurity, Cyber Terrorism Workshop in Kampala
Kampala, Uganda – November 17, 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has opened a five-day regional workshop on cybersecurity and cyber terrorism awareness at the Onomo Hotel in Kampala. Themed “Think Smart, Stay Safe: Youth Against Cyber Threats,” the event aims to strengthen regional capacity, promote digital safety, and empower young people to counter emerging online threats.
EASF Recognized by African Union as 2nd Best Performing REC/REM for 2025
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) is proud to announce that it has been ranked as the second-best performing Regional Economic Community/Regional Mechanism (REC/REM) by the African Union for the year 2025.
