Kigali – September 8, 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has launched a five-day regional workshop on cybersecurity and cyber terrorism awareness at the Paramount Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda. The event, themed “Think Smart, Stay Safe: Youth Against Cyber Threats,” aims to raise awareness, build regional capacity, and engage youth in combating emerging digital threats.

Eastern Africa Standby Force to Launch Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop in Kigali

Kigali – September 7, 2025 – The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) is set to launch a five-day workshop on cybersecurity and cyber terrorism awareness beginning tomorrow, September 8, in Kigali, Rwanda.

The event aims to raise awareness and build regional capacity to combat emerging digital threats, with a particular focus on engaging young people. Held under the theme "Think Smart, Stay Safe: Youth Against Cyber Threats," the workshop will bring together cybersecurity experts, policy makers, law enforcement agencies and youth representatives from across the region.

AU Special Envoy Pays Courtesy Visit to EASF to Strengthen Cooperation on Women, Peace and Security

Wednesday, 3 September 2025 - Nairobi - H.E. Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, the African Union Commission (AUC) Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security (OSE-WPS), paid a courtesy visit to Brig. Gen. (Rtd.) Paul Kahuria Njema, Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), at the EASF Secretariat on Wednesday, 3 September 2025. The visit aimed to deepen collaboration on implementing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda in the Eastern Africa region, particularly in advancing the goals of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and related AU commitments.
