EASF Member State Concludes Peace Deal.
The leaders of Eritrea and Ethiopia signed a peace agreement on Monday the 9th of July following the closure of the summit between the two countries.
Both countries have now restored diplomatic relations ending 20 years of enmity and following the signing of this peace agreement, many leaders from the East African region and beyond have commended and congratulated both leaders.

EASF Holds Integrated Mission Planning Course
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) launched an Integrated Mission Planning Course (IMPC) on Monday 9th July 2018, at Peacekeeping Training Centre, in Khartoum, in the Republic of the Sudan.
Commander of the German United Nations Training Center Visits EASF
Commander Werner Klaffus from the German United Nations Training Center led a team of officers on a visit to the EASF Secretariat, in Karen, Nairobi, on 9th July 2018. The delegation was received by the Director of the organization, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh.
Operationalization of EASF's Situation Room in Progress
Week 27 of the year 2018 saw the Eastern African Standby Force Secretariat roll out the development of Multinational Early Warning, Situational Awareness and Intelligence (MEWSAI) Concept in line with the operationalization of its Early Warning Systems.
EASF Participates in Africa Union Summit
The Eastern Africa Standby Force is participating in the 33rd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The 33rd Ordinary Session, which started on Thursday 28th, comes to an end on 29th June 2018.

EASF Conducts MRSSCM Workshop
The Maritime Cell of the Eastern Africa Standby Force conducted a three-day workshop on Maritime Regional Safety and Security Coordination Mechanism (MRSSCM) at the Pride Inn Paradise Beach Resort, in Mombasa, Kenya from 19th to 21st June 2018.
