EASF Director Attends AU Executive Council Session in Addis Ababa
ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, 28 July 2026- The Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), Brig. Gen. Ronald Rwivanga, is participating in the 49th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Executive Council in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, alongside the Head of Policy, Plans and Development (HPOD) and the Executive Assistant to the Director. The session is being held from 27 to 28 July 2026.
The Executive Council convenes Ministers of Foreign Affairs from African Union Member States, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and Regional Mechanisms (RMs) to deliberate on key continental priorities. Discussions focus on peace and security, institutional reforms, regional integration, and the implementation of the AU's Agenda 2063.
EASF's participation reflects its continued commitment to supporting the African Union's vision of a peaceful, secure, and integrated Africa. Through strengthened collaboration with the AU, RECs, and RMs, the Force aims to advance coordinated approaches to peace support operations and regional stability.
