The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) on Monday, 29 June 2026, convened a Midterm Exit Strategy Meeting with the Embassy of Denmark, Chair of the Friends of EASF, to review progress under their ongoing partnership ahead of the conclusion of Denmark's support in December 2026.
The meeting assessed the implementation of ongoing activities, reviewed financial progress, discussed lessons learned, and considered the proposed exit strategy to ensure a smooth and sustainable transition at the end of the partnership.
Speaking during the meeting, the EASF Director expressed appreciation to the Government of Denmark for its consistent political, technical, and financial support, noting that the partnership has significantly strengthened EASF's institutional capacity and operational readiness in advancing regional peace and security.
As Denmark's support enters its final phase, EASF reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the gains achieved through the partnership and ensuring a successful transition while continuing to promote peace, security, and stability across Eastern Africa.
