EASF Experts in Addis Ababa

A four days' Eastern Africa Standby Force Experts' Working Group Meeting came to the end on 4th October 2019, at the EASF Force Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The aim of the Experts Working Meeting was to discuss on Development of the HR Policy on Deployment of Civilians to EASF Peace Support Operations, Duty of Care Policy for EASF Peace Support Missions and Review of the 2014 EASF Service Regulations.

The Director of EASF Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh highlighted the significant role played by Experts in the decision making processes of EASF and noted that the Experts constitute the foundation stone for all major undertakings throughout the history of the Organization.
 
Dr. Bouh noted that the Experts Working Group meeting agenda was very significant to the Organization considering the current role of EASF as the Standby Force on the continental rotation matrix between July and December, 2019.
   
The Meeting was chaired by Maj Desire Hakorimana from the Republic of Burundi, with Mr. Zidini Ibrahim of the Union of Comoros as Vice Chair and Mr. Mike Wambi Mabonga from the Republic of Uganda as Rapporteur.
