Police Pre-Deployment Course Successfully Concludes

The Eastern Africa Standby Force successfully concluded the two-weeks African Union's Police Pre-Deployment Course on Friday 10th September 2021 at the Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS) at Embakasi, Nairobi.

Officially closing the course was the EASF Director, Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa. In his key address during the closing ceremony, the Director thanked the participants, the trainers and mentors for dedicating their efforts towards achieving the course's objectives. The relevant details of those officers who have now accomplished the course will be maintained in the EASF Police Database; such data enables the Standby Force maintain an overview of its highly trained officers who can be called upon to serve in peace keeping missions should need arise.

Brig Gen Fayisa also thanked EASF Member States for availing officers to participate in this course despite many challenges which are being faced globally at present times. The Director applauded the Government of the Royal Kingdom of Denmark for supporting the course.
