Maritime Interdiction Operation Course
The Maritime Interdiction Operation course took place in Souda Bay, Crete, Greece from 4th to 14th March 2014. This course was designed for instructors/trainers for operational maritime law enforcement skills of operational maritime police/coastguard/naval forces with a focus on maritime interdiction operations against piracy.

The 15th Session of the Eastern Africa Committee of Defence and Security Council commenced today in Nairobi, Kenya. It brings together Chiefs of Defence Staff from the ten member states of EASF.
Friends of EASF Meeting
A Meeting between EASF and 'Friends of EASF was conducted on 17th January 2014 in Nairobi, Kenya. The one-day meeting was jointly chaired by the Director of EASF, Maj Gen Cyrille Ndayirukiye and the Damish Defence Attache, Col Soren Knudsen.
EASFCOM Signs MOU with Regional Centre on Small Arms
A Memorandum of Understanding between the Eastern Africa Standby Force Coordination Mechanism (EASFCOM) and the Regional Centre on Small Arms in the Great Lakes Region, the Horn of Africa and Bordering States (RECSA), was signed on 20th January 2014 at Nairobi, Kenya.
Regional Course on Maritime Search and Rescue
EASF Maritime Officers participated in a course on Maritime Search and Rescue conducted at the Rwanda Peace Academy from 2nd to 6th December 2013. The course was a collaborative effort between the Eastern Africa Standby Force Coordination Mechanism (EASFCOM), the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden), and the Rwanda Peace Academy.
Maritime Force Structure Workshop
EASF conducted a Maritime Force Structure Workshop from 25th to 29th November in Nairobi, Kenya. This was the second of two workshops that aimed primarily to define the EASF Maritime Force Structure.
