Statement by Eastern Africa Standby Force on the Situation In The Republic Of The Sudan

The Republic of the Sudan and international actors have been engaging with great progress in offering different perspectives on overcoming the current political crisis and it was envisaged that a final Political Agreement was be signed earlier in April, which was to allow the Republic of the Sudan to restore democratic transition and end the crisis. Unfortunately, the unresolved disagreement between the Sudanese Military Forces and the Rapid Support Forces has led to postponement of the signing of the Political Agreement and triggered the current unfortunate escalation of crisis.

EASF Management Retreat in Mombasa

Group Photo The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) conducted from 17th March in Mombasa (Kenya) of a two-days Executive Management Retreat themed “Strengthening EASF Mandate and Performance in the Region”. The main purpose of the Retreat was to provide Management Team with a platform to reflect and evaluate the Organization in order to assess how well it is achieving its goals.

Enhancing coordination for the Police Component

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) conducted a Police Points of Contact (PPOC) workshop in Mombasa, Kenya, from 9^th – 12^th March 2023. The aim was to update the nine Member States represented on the achievements, progress and challenges of EASF Police component and the need to keep an updated Police database.
